Duty of Sentinel is a free-to-play strategy RPG mixed with collectible card game elements and turn-based combat. In a fantastic yet chaotic world, heroes answer to the call of Sentinel leader Thrall diving into heated battles against the corrupting forces of the Evil Dragon Spirit. Players are the mighty heroes and will be the leader of their own fighting group in the perilous but proud adventure. Around the epic war between Sentinel and Scourage, Duty of Sentinel prepares several main features and activities for players to enjoy role-playing, strategic planning and multiplayer interaction wrapped in a free-to-play experience.

Duty of Sentinel

  • Card-based Hero Recruit

In Duty of Sentinel players can step into the boots of three kinds of characters: Phantom Assassin, Sacred Warrior and Silencer and can recruit hundreds of distinctive heroes of the three representative types known as Dexterity, Strength and Intelligence heroes.

Heroes come in the form of cards, divided into five levels of color-coded rarities ranging from the most ordinary white fighters to the best quality orange combatants. Every hero has couples of special abilities and the three basic attributes that determine their power. And Heroes can be recruited in three different ways – recruit defeated heroes and repeat recruitment with coins, redeem heroes with arena credits, and win stronger heroes by completing special quests.

  • Strategic Battle Formation

Players can recruit a large number of heroes but can only take five different ones into a battle. As mentioned, heroes are categorized into three major types based on their attributes and so filling different roles as front-row vanguard, physical and magic DPS generally. But specifically, every hero is unique because even heroes of the same type vary from one another in special skills, specific stats and the combination of both. So it requires tactical planning to pick five heroes out of tons of options and position them in the right stance of the right battle formation.

  • PvE and PvP Battles

Duty of Sentinel provides both story-driven solo campaign against NPC enemies and tough PvP matchups in the arena. So players can follow the quest line defeating scourge in various battlegrounds while horning skills and strategies and then jump into fray in the Arena to challenge or accept duels to strike for high rank while garnering arena credits. These two modes of competition similarly take place in grid-based battlefield where tactics rewards victory as well as coins, Exp, materials and items.

  • Character & Hero Enhancement

Players in Duty of Sentinel can level up their own characters and forge the fighting team stronger with coins, materials and items earned in quests and arena. They can upgrade heroes’ abilities every several levels and compound the same hero cards to boost the target card in basic attributes. Moreover, players can even DIY a legendary hero by reviving it with quality materials through soulfusing feature.

Players can arm heroes with great equipment. In addition to the basic gear gained in shop or in quests, there is a possibility of creating advanced goods by combining secret materials listed in the hard-won recipe scroll, mostly dropped from boss levels.

The combination of collectible cards, role-playing and animated battle is by no means novel since there are many games of this type in the gaming field. Duty of Sentinel is, overall, above the average with its decent artwork, rich hero-cultivation and team-building strategies and tactical battle. Both card and strategy fans can find fun in this easily accessible free game on the browser.
