FarmVille 2, the sequel to Znyga’s flagship title, is confirmed being developed at its San Francisco headquarters. Built on the original real-time farm simulation, the successor adds 3D graphics, deepens social elements, and expands crafting contents, leaving other possible new features vague now.
FarmVille 2 is Znyga’ first 3D game, in which all the buildings, crops and animals can be viewed from different angles. Shown in 3D, the in-game world is designed with more detailed artwork with improved animation. As to game mechanics, the new game will more like a natural farm, where players can harvest crops, use them as materials to make products that can be further processed to make still another product. Details are intentionally kept vague, though a safe guess of the chain is crop-flour-bread. In this way, certain structures as in a processing factory will be part of gameplay.
FarmVille still boasts more than 21 million monthly active users on Facebook. Does anybody ever think of carrying over items from the original to the new? For those expecting such a move, you simply can’t, as Znyga hopes to give a boost to the sale of virtual goods in the new title.
FarmVille 2 is “coming soon”. Expect further info very soon.
