On IAHGames’ maiden partnership with Daylight Studios, IAHGames Director of Games Management, Mr Jonathon Sze (薛仕钦) said, “This is the first time we are launching made-in-Singapore mobile game titles. With our extensive network of 37 million gamers in Southeast Asia, we are well-poised to bring locally-created games successfully to the regional markets. Daylight Studios has already made a good headstart with its visually-captivating and fast-paced mobile games and we believe that our partnership will achieve the goals that we have set.”
Mr Don Sim, Co-founder and CEO of Daylight Studios said, “We are very excited to be launching Conquest Age and Spirit Horizon with IAHGames, a AAA publisher for the South-East Asian region. It took Daylight Studios’ team of 20 some 14 months to develop these two games, which will be made publicly available today to gamers across the region’s key markets, starting with Singapore and Malaysia, using IAHGames’ vast and proven infrastructure and network.”Leveraging on this network, IAHGames recently helped the US-based game developer, NASDAQ-listed Take-Two Interactive Software to achieve record sales of US$30 million for the wildly-popular games Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) and NBA 2K14 in Singapore and the region.
While PC and online games will remain popular, mobile games will grow much faster as game players opt for convenience and popularity. In view of this, IAHGames will continue to distribute good PC and online games, and add more mobile games into its portfolio, especially home-grown high quality mobile games.
Mr Sze said, “With the dramatic growth in mobile devices (smartphones and tablets), we see great potential in mobile games. According to Gartner’s report on 29 Oct 2013, the worldwide video game market, which includes video game console hardware and software, online, mobile and PC games, is forecast to reach US$93 billion in 2013 and US$111 billion by 2015.
“Mobile games are the fastest-growing segment, with revenue set to nearly double between 2013 and 2015 from US$13.2 billion to US$22 billion. In view of this bullish outlook for mobile games, we are optimistic of positive returns from our partnership with Daylight Studios – which will open up for us new revenue streams in mobileentertainment.”
