Samurai Taisen is a new free-to-play RTS MMO on the web browser with a Japanese samurai setting. The game takes place in the warring states period known as Sengoku Period in Japan, a time of “social upheaval, political intrigue, and military conflict that lasted roughly from the middle of the 15th century to the beginning of the 17th century”.
Samurai Taisen is centering around the conflict of four factions including Date, Uesugi, Takeda and Oda clans. Players can take the role of Samurai, lords of small rural domains in feudal Japan, who will join one of the four clans, develop lands, train samurai, build troops, find allies, hire Komuso to gain intelligence, hire ninja and geisha to defeat foes, and eliminate whoever stands in their way to becoming Shogun.
Samurai Taisen is developed by PST Team behind the first ever visual novels called Sentou Gakuen mixed with MMORPG elements. With the past experience with that, the developer also adds an optional Story Mode, in which the storyline and in-game characters will be introduced in Visual Novel style.
Samrai Taisen has finished its Closed Beta and is ready to enter Open Beta on May 6th, 2013.
