Sunshine Bay is a new managerial and strategic simulation game that just entered open beta on Facebook. A island-building simulator, the game takes you into a beautiful tropical island and put you in charge of its development.

Sunshine Bay

Sunshine Bay starts in a conventional style with the greeting captain and a brief introduction of your mission. You are selected to take the office but you need to figure out the reason behind the appointment as you do your job. blue waters, palm-covered undeveloped lands in large size and a couple of houses and several waterborne facilities – that is the basic island you start off with and will turn into a glamorous hub without the trace of the past emptiness.

Following the quest line is the shortcut for quick growth. Construct residential buildings from bungalows to Italian Villas to boost passenger number, build electricity-generating plants to power all buildings, set up yacht-related facilities above the water to gain money, materials and experience, purchase seven types of yachts to set sails for voyage, plant palm trees to decorate the land and build a variety of commercial structures from stores to spa centers to casino to attract abundant visitors.

Other than building on the island, you will also construct a series of waterborne facilities such as piers, docks and wharfs that serve to maintain the various yachts and help successful sails. You need to set sails frequently to bring back different items, part of which can make sets of collection, and win experience for level up. Besides, you can also invite other yachts that are passing by to anchor in your dock temporarily to show your hospitality and get some rewards.

You will have a wide selection of buildings to construct, maintain and upgrade and endless sails to take. All is around the management of the several types of resources: passenger, electricity, fuel, coins as well as cash (the premium currency). Below the building and sailing surface, you are to manage the flow of these resources. You spend coins to buy buildings and yachts, power all facilities with electricity, harvest passengers and coins from specific buildings, load passengers and fuels to yacht for voyage which brings  back materials, coins and experience, and then continue to level up unlocking new contents. And repeat and rinse.

The game offers you a small patch of usable land with the rest locked in the beginning. As you extend your business and win coins, you need more space for your newly built structures and you can expand to the adjacent areas little by little when you meet the requirements. While it’s an open-end title, there is certain objective to reach, like the ever greater island, which motivates you to move on.

Sunshine Bay adopts a colorful and bright palette suits its very theme. Graphics and animation are stylish, detailed and pretty, with relaxing background music. If you look for some surprises in the core simulating mechanics, sadly there is none. But if you are easily pleased with a casual island building game to loiter some leisure time, you have a good reason to come to the Sunshine Bay.

Sun shine bay is a money grabbing game. After reach higher levels (17 for example) you can no longer progress with out spend loads of real money. You can still there for days hoping to update your buildings. It becomes extremely boring and frustrating.

All they are after is for you spend money buy cash, lots of it. Don't bother it's not worth it.
