Take the Cake is a free and fun Match-three arcade game with a sweet pastry theme. Starring a little girl named Julia, the game tells her adventure in the magic forest in search for her lost kitten. You will help her in the journey with many of cute animals befriending with her along the way, solving puzzles to pass many challenging and fun levels.

Take the Cake

Take the Cake is a pick-and-play with simple and traditional game rules any casual player will find familiar. Swap and make matches of three or more same pastries to drop them; make special matches to generate super cakes to facilitate the score; and make matches within limited moves to reach the specific level objective. Those are the foundation of the game mechanics and will be explained briefly in the first several levels of play.

Every level has its own goals you need to complete to pass. In general there are four types of them summed as Feed, Score, Harvest and Discover. To be more specific, you need to match required types of cakes to feed into the face-wide mouth of the green guttler companion, do your best to score high towards three stars, break those on the nuts-tiles to collect nuts, and bring down items like milk and the footprints to unlock the gate and reveal the path. While initial levels only challenge you with one type of goal, the later ones generally contain three or all of them.

Assuming the role of the girl, you will embark on your adventure in the magic forest and will meet a full cast of cute animals that will help you pass through gates unlocking new paths and zones. At the time of writing there are around 70 levels extensive in several different backgrounds. Levels are progressively difficult with more and tougher barriers that make every game different and fresh.

Not only will you have to achieve more goals in a level, you will also encounter more bad stuff on the board that baffles your objectives. The cheese also loves your cake and will guff those nearby one at a time before you pop it away; the gift boxes look nice but jail milks you need to bring down while the upgraded iron boxes even get layers; the locks drag your pace of whatever you do; and the rocks are pure barriers but their angry-faced dudes steal moves away and thusly make them to the priority list. These different obstacle tiles enrich and vibrate the gameplay. While you make hate them when you fail a game but you do expect more of them to show up in later levels.

Power-ups are an integral element in Take the Cake with the most common setups included ranging from extra moves and removing a random cake to converting a chosen cake to any of the special packed ones. In addition, there are also handy packed super cakes you can purchase to use their special powers like clearing a whole column or row or an area of tiles and eliminating all of the chosen color. Power-up items are one major source where the game monetizes, and the other is the Life system. When you run out of the five default lives you can purchase life supplies for real cash instead of waiting for the auto refill.

Take the Cake features decent graphics and solid matching-3 fun. It supports seamless play on multiple platforms, so you can have a quick match on your iPhone, iPad, Android devices or Facebook freely.
