TaoYuan

TaoYuan (桃园 in Chinese) is a new next-generation fantasy MMORPG, the first ever Unreal Engine3-powered turn-based title worldwide. It is the maiden works by China-based Playcool, which has worked on it for 45 months with 30,000,000 USD invested in the development. Players in it can choose one of four classes, Archer, Warrior, Mage or Rouge, and then embark on adventure.

• Unreal Engine 3 – TaoYuan runs on this acing game engine, which brings quality graphics, amazing visual effects and multiple angels in the vista.
• ATB System –Active Time Battle revolutionizes the traditional turn-based combat by integrating the real-time elements. Based on ATB, players can hit enemies more than once in one turn, and meanwhile every participants can freely move around in 3*5 grids to adjust their strategic formation. So simply, ATB shortens fighting time, tightens gaming rhythm and deepens strategy and flexibility.
• Massive War – Players are able to summon hundreds of generals (besides pets) to compete in one battle. Thanks to the multi-function of the powerful engine, players can experience the terrific full-screen summoning visual effects and tweaking hack-and-slash. If opposing players summon generals simultaneously, they can trigger the QTE system for rival generals to PK; and the winner side will receive powerful buff that can turn the tide of a battle.

TaoYuan once showcased in G-star in Korea at invitation on behalf of Chinese games. Currently, Korean media NCsoft is talking with Playcool about TaoYuan’s publishing in SK. If the negotiation goes smoothly, this turn-based MMORPG will be launched synchronously there. Now, only the original Chinese version is available.

(Note: TaoYuan, literally meaning Peach Gargen, bears deeper intonation in Chinese literature. From the Chinese classic of Romance of the Three Kingdoms, TaoYuan is where Liu Bei, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei swear to brotherhood. So the term itself extends from the basic location to the meaning of brotherhood. )
