A full-fledged sequel to the 2012 hit RTS game Wargame: European Escalation is going to come out. It’s Wargame: AirLand Battle, another intuitive tactical wargame built on the success of its predecessor and aimed to bring the escalation to the next level.
Set in the Cold War era, Wargame: AirLand Battle depicts the heated warfare among 12 nations, with four new nations joining the original eight, as commanders use all the military resources from tanks to planes. The in-game arsenal is expanded as well with 150 different airplanes from fighters to bombers to electronic warfare planets and hundreds of vehicles available to send to battles.
Moreover, realism will play more important role in the gameplay. Scandinavia, a strategic battlefield in the war, is recreated faithfully of its architecture landscapes in the game. Besides, an improved weapons system will bring better handling of fire and firing effects and a new Urban Combat Interface (UCI) that allows players to battle inside cities block by block. Due to the new version of Iriszoom Engine, graphics will be updated to another level with army units and sceneries rendered in realistic, spectacular detail.
Another new feature introduced to AirLand Battle is the solo campaigns in which players manage all aspects of the battle, leading every squad and coordinating reinforcements and supports. Be it solo or multiplayer mode, players are able to highly customize the army due to the Deck system.
With its in-depth strategies, realistic visuals and brand new features, Wargame: AirLand Battle is set to take the series to new heights. It is slated to come out in May.
